The Naina Devi Temple was destroyed by the landslip of 1880 and later rebuilt. It is located on the northern shore of Naini Lake. The presiding deity of the temple is Maa Naina Devi represented by two Netras or eyes. Flanking Naina Devi are the deities of Mata Kali and Lord Ganesha. Devotees in great number visit this place during Navratras and on Ashtami (Eight Day ) of the month of Shravan. There is also a cave near the temple which is known as the cave of Naina Devi.
