Nagaur, 135 kms away from Jodhpur is famous for its Camel Fair. The fair is held in the month of Jan/ Feb. Sports like tug-of-war, camel races, bullock races and cock fights; jugglers; puppeteers, story-tellers; and exciting campfire evenings are held to entertain the tourists during the fair.
Tourist attractions: Nagaur is home to the massive 12th century ruins of Ahhichatragarh (Fort of the Hooded Cobra) which have been beautifully restored. Badal Mahal, Sheesh Mahal & Hadi Rani Mahal are other palaces worth visiting. All three have exquisite 18th century frescos on the ceilings. You can also see the fascinating medieval air cooling system and an ornate old hammam, or bath here.
The Tarkeen Dargah, which is the dargah of Khwaja Hamiduddin Nagauri is visited by a large number of Sufis and Muslims. He was a disciple of Khwaja Moinuddin Chisti of Ajmer

Getting there: Nagaur lies halfway between Jodhpur and Bikaner. Buses and taxis are easily available from most major towns in Rajashan. Nagaur also has a railway station with trains coming in from Jaipur, Jodhpur, Delhi and Bikaner.The Jodhpur airport is the closest airport to Nagaur.
