Gajner, Rajasthan

Introduction

Gajner is located on the Jaisalmer Road, 32 kms from Bikaner. A former hunting resort built by Maharaja Ganga Singhji of Bikaner to share his passion with his exclusive guests, Gajner is home to the Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary and Gajner Palace Hotel.

Gajner Palace Hotel: The Gajner Palace was built by Maharaja Ganga Singhji on the banks of a lake. This heritage property is spread over 6000 acres and was used by the Maharajas as a hunting resort. The palace also has a private wildlife sanctuary. The palace now converted to a heritage hotel is an architectural gem with elegantly restored rooms. It also offers a range of recreational activities like boating, bird watching, game viewing or camel and jeep safaris into the sanctuary.

Gajner Wildlife Sanctuary: The sanctuary is home to black bucks, blue bulls, desert foxes etc. The greenery in the vicinity of Gajner Palace along with its splendid lawns, the charming twittering of birds, the leisurely walk of peacocks – all play their roles in making it a cherished destination for tourists.

Gajner is situated about 15 kms from Bikaner and 250 kms from Jodhpur. Frequent buses and taxis are available.
