Bidar has an unpredictable climate. April and May are the hottest because of the geographical location (it lies in the Central belt of India). Even in these months one can expect thunder storms and occasional showers. During monsoon in June the town turns cool and pleasant. The winter is not so cold. The best time to travel is anytime between October and February.
The Indian Rupee (INR) is the acceptable form of currency here. It is advisable to exchange foreign currency, and travelers’ cheques at larger cities such as Bangalore and Hyderabad. .

Bidar originally derived its name from its peculiarity in bidri works and handicrafts. There are a lot of local shops where one can buy bidri handicrafts.
There are lots of cheap lodging houses with basic amenities. Two and three star hotels can be located easily. Hotels like Hotel Sapana International and Hotel Mayura are popular but don’t expect luxury hotels here.
