Hotel Description |
|
| Built in 1916, Paradise Inn welcomed its first visitor in the summer of 1917. This Historic Landmark Inn has continued to offer a restful retreat for visitors to Mount Rainier for the past eighty-nine years. This Inn is open from May through September and closes during the winter months when an average of 630 inches of snow falls in the Paradise area. The Inn is literally buried in snow for much of the winter. With the Inn approaching its ninetieth year and experiencing extensive damage caused by heavy exterior snow loading, the National Park Service plans to close the historic property for two-year rehabilitation. Structural repairs, including repairs to the massive stone chimneys in the Main Lobby and Dinning Room will be completed, and handicap accessible rooms added to the main floor adjacent to the rough-hewn timber lobby. The Inn is scheduled to reopen in May 2008 to, once again, host the thousands of visitors from around the world that visit each year. The Jackson Visitors Center in the Paradise area will remain open during the Paradise Construction period and the National Park Inn, located in the Historic Longmire district, is open year round. The National Park Inn offers accommodations, a full service dining room and general store for the convenience of visitors. For reservations, please call 360-569-2275. | |
